Mobility is the ability to move or be moved freely and easily. Learn how a variety of mobility modalities and tools can be applied in your yoga teaching. Explore techniques to help students discover their ranges of motion, increase quality of movement, and develop a greater understanding of how to move efficiently. We'll discuss the differences between mobility and flexibility and how this applies to an asana practice.
Instruction will cover:
Passive vs active movement
The relationship between mobility and flexibility
Twists and lateral movements
Opening and closing
Neural gliding aka "flossing"
Prop use
Controlled Articular Rotations
Dr. Stuart McGill's Big Three
Playing with dials of intensity
Conversations and practice
