Mobility is the ability to move or be moved freely and easily. Learn how a variety of mobility modalities and tools can be applied in your yoga teaching. Explore techniques to help students discover their ranges of motion, increase quality of movement, and develop a greater understanding of how to move efficiently. We'll discuss the differences between mobility and flexibility and how this applies to an asana practice.
Instruction will cover:

  • Passive vs active movement

  • The relationship between mobility and flexibility

  • Twists and lateral movements

  • Opening and closing

  • Neural gliding aka "flossing"

  • Prop use

  • Controlled Articular Rotations

  • Dr. Stuart McGill's Big Three

  • Playing with dials of intensity

  • Conversations and practice

We will have a short lunch break both days- please bring your own lunch or make plans to stop at a nearby restaurant or Publix (across the street).
